CENTRAL ARMED POLICE FORCES (ASSISTANT COMMANDANTS) EXAMINATION 2023

The Union Public Service Commission will hold a CAPF Written Examination on 06th August, 2023 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz.

Border Security Force (BSF),
Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF),
Central Industrial Security Force(CISF),
Indo‐Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and
Sashastra Seema Bal(SSB).

The UPSC CAPF AC Examination will be held in accordance with the Rules for the Examination published by Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India dated 26th April, 2023.

UPSC CAPF AC VACANCIES : The tentative number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the CAPF examination is as follows :

The number of CAPF vacancies mentioned above is liable to alteration. Reservation will be given effect to as per policy of the Govt. 10% of the vacancies are earmarked for ex-servicemen.

UPSC CAPF AC ELIGIBILITY :

Nationality: No person who is not a citizen of India shall, except with the consent of the Central Government signified in writing, be appointed or employed under these Rules. Provided that nothing contained in these rules shall debar the appointment, enrolment or employment of a subject of Nepal or Bhutan under these rules.

Sex : Both Male and Female CAPF candidates are eligible for appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants.  

Age: A CAPF candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on 1st August, 2023, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1998 and not later than 1st August, 2003.

UPSC CAPF Educational Qualifications 

A CAPF candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or posses an equivalent qualification.

CAPF Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed Physical and Medical Standards for admission to Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants), Examination, 2022 specified in the Notice. 

Possession of NCC B or C Certificates : Possession of NCC B or C Certificate will be a desirable qualification. These qualifications will be given consideration at the time of Interview/ Personality Test only.

HOW TO APPLY UPSC CAPF AC APPLICATION FORM: (a) CAPF Candidates are required to apply Online using the link https://www.upsconline.nic.in
The CAPF applicants are advised to submit only single application. However, if due to any unavoidable situation, he/she submits another/multiple applications, then he/she must ensure that application with the higher RID is complete in all respects like applicants details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc. The applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the application with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID.
Candidates are not required to submit Hard Copy of their applications to the Commission at this stage.

The CAPF Online Applications can be filled upto 16th May, 2023 till 18.00 hours.

UPSC CAPF APPLICATION FEE :
CAPF Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only).
Fee can be paid either by remitting in any Branch of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card or by using Internet Banking of SBI. 
Applicants who opt for Pay by Cash mode should print the system generated Pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only.
Pay by Cash mode will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 15.05.2023 i.e. one day before the closing date; however applicants who have generated their Pay-in- Slip before it is deactivated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date. Such applicants who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date i.e during banking hours at SBI Branch, for reasons whatsoever, even if holding valid pay-in-slip will have no other offline option but to opt for available online Debit/Credit Card or Internet Banking payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 18:00 Hours of 16.05.2023.

All female CAPF candidates and candidates belonging to scheduled castes/ scheduled tribes are not required to pay any fee. No fee exemption is, however, available to OBC/EWS candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.

UPSC CAPF AC SELECTION PROCEDURE/SCHEME OF THE EXAMINATION: - The Selection Procedure/Scheme of the CAPF AC Examination will be as follows :
(i) CAPF Written Examination : The written examination to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission will be held on 06.08.2023 and will comprise two papers. CAPF Paper I will be 2 Hour duration and CAPF Paper II will be 3 Hour duration  

(ii) CAPF Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests

Candidates who are declared qualified in the UPSC CAPF AC written examination will be summoned for Physical Standards/ Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. Those candidates who meet the prescribed Physical Standards will be put through the Physical Efficiency Tests  

(iii) UPSC CAPF Interview/Personality Test : CAPF Candidates who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests, will be called for Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The CAPF Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 Marks.

(iv) UPSC CAPF Final Selection / Merit: The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the CAPF Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.

WITHDRAWAL OF UPSC CAPF AC APPLICATIONS: The candidates will not be allowed to withdraw their applications after submission of the same..

UPSC CAPF e-admission Certificate OR e-Admit Card: 

The eligible CAPF candidates shall be issued an e-admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The CAPF e-Admission Certificate will be made available in the UPSC website [https://www.upsc.gov.in] for downloading by candidates. No paper CAPF Admission Certificate will be sent by post. For downloading the CAPF e-Admission Certificate/e-Admit Card the candidate must have his/her vital parameters like RID & Date of Birth or Roll No.
